Coonamble Neighbourhood Centre

Coonamble Neighbourhood Centre (CNC) is a community based not for profit with a focus on supporting access to services, information and support for all residents and visitors to our community.

The Coonamble Neighbourhood Centre provides an information & referral service to the Coonamble community in emergency relief services and provides assistance with the following:
  • No Interest Loans Scheme (NILS) application process.
  • Be Connected - Digital Skills 
  • Dementia Friendly Communities
Coonamble Neighbourhood Centre also encourages and supports visiting organisations to operate from our friendly Centre. Organisations that attend regularly and provide services include:
  • Lifeline Financial Counselling
  • Western NSW Community Legal Inc. 
  • National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA)
The Coonamble Neighbourhood Centre also auspices the Coonamble Environment Group.

The Coonamble Neighbourhood Centre facilitates the monthly Inter Agency Meetings which are held the First Wednesday of each month at the Coonamble Bowling Club at 10:00am and promotes upcoming events/workshops through the Inter Agency Email Network. These events can also be located in our Events section.

Cathy is a life long Coonamble resident who is passionate about supporting and contributing to a thriving community Cathy is also a strong advocate of the Coonamble Together Partnership Group (TPG). A locally led initiative to support improved service coordination, supporting access to appropriate services and more efficiently.

Mandy joined the Coonamble Neighbourhood Centre committee in 2018. Mandy works in education support at the Coonamble High School and has a strong commitment to caring for her community. Mandy enjoys spending her spare time with her family and friends, caring for the people she loves.

Heidi Hodgson

Committee

Heidi joined the Coonamble Neighbourhood Centre committee in 2018. She was born and raised in Coonamble and upon completing her university degree she returned to commence her role as the director of Coonamble Pre School. Heidi is passionate about creating access to quality early childhood education and is an advocate for rural and remote communities.

Barb is a longtime Coonamble resident who has a long history of supporting people in the community. Barb has worked for many years as an Aboriginal Teachers Aide at Coonamble High School, Volunteer at Coonamble Parent Support Office / Green Villa, Community Transport and is on the committee of Coonamble Rosary Makers.

The Together Partnership Group (TPG) are a group that builds and maintains, the momentum of inter agency coordination efforts, ensures community voices influence decision making and keeps services and the community connected.

No Interest Loans Scheme (NILS)

No Interest Loans (NILS) are available for families on low incomes for essential goods and services such as fridges, washing machines, car repairs and medical procedures for up to $1,500.

Be Connected Digital Skills

Helping people over Fifty access the internet and learn new online skills, while promoting the use of Be Connected’s learning portal.

Dementia Friendly Communities

Community Promotion and activities to promote a dementia friendly Community Environment funded by Dementia Australia.
